Joe S. took on the ambitious task of a complete restoration and modification. The goal was not just to bring the Wellcraft back to its former glory but to reimagine its design for better functionality

This project was a comprehensive overhaul from the hull up. Using products exclusively from Fiberglass Warehouse, Joe demonstrated what's possible with quality materials and a clear vision.

The Transformation: From Cuddy Cabin to Center Console

The original 1981 Wellcraft V20 Steplift came with a cuddy cabin—a small, enclosed space at the bow. The decision was made to convert it to a center console design, which required significant structural changes.

Rebuilding the Core Structure

For these structural elements, our customer used a range of Fiberglass Warehouse products, including our trusted vinyl ester resin, gel coat and high-strength fiberglass. These materials were essential for building a foundation that is both strong and resistant to the harsh marine environment.

Crafting the New Layout

With the core structure rebuilt, the focus shifted to creating the new center console features.
