You might remember a little while back when we spotlighted one of our customers, Joe S., and his ambitious boat project. He undertook a massive challenge: a full restoration of a 1981 Wellcraft V20.
But this wasn't just a simple coat of paint and some new upholstery. Joe is completely converting the vessel from a cuddy cabin to a center console. This type of conversion is a significant overhaul that fundamentally changes the layout, weight distribution, and utility of the boat. It opens up the deck for 360-degree fishing access and gives the classic hull a modern, utilitarian feel.
We recently received some new photos of the build, and the progress is nothing short of impressive.

Following the Journey
Restorations like this take patience, skill, and a serious amount of grinding. Converting a cuddy cabin requires removing significant structural components and re-engineering the deck support, making Joe's progress even more commendable.
We love seeing these classic hulls get a second chance at life on the water. We can’t wait to see the final product when it hits the waves. Thanks for sharing the update with us, Joe!
