What Is a Hydrofoil?

For those unfamiliar with hydrofoils, they're revolutionary surfing equipment that literally lift riders above the water's surface. A hydrofoil consists of a wing-like structure mounted beneath the board that generates lift as it moves through water—similar to how airplane wings work in air.
