Hello Joe,
I have a few small dings from bumping into a boat anchor. I have a 34’ Cruisers Express. The damage is just above the rub rail. The issue is there is one spot with a small hole through the gel coat and there is no fiberglass behind. Would you work some filler into the hole then gel coat. I’m thinking you would reinforce with fiberglass but I have no access to the back side of this site.
I enjoy watching your YouTube channel -

@Al Fox- Yes. You can make a mold off of old cowlings using our gelcoat and resins.

Just tuned in on your YouTube channel. Awesome info. Watched first three episodes. I’m an experimental aircraft builder. Would like to see if you do anything with making molds for cowlings.

Capt Joe is why Im here.
@Brad- To do it correctly, you would need to grind out the hole and layer in fiberglass and resin then gel coat over top. If you don’t think the area has been weakened by the hole, fill it will some structural putty, then gel coat.
