Dark Blue Gel Coat is a custom ISO NPG polyester gel coat color. It is great for boat building, repairs, molds, spray up processes and hand lay up.

Without Wax:

Resin “without wax” cures tacky so there is no need for sanding between layers. Waxed resin is typically not desired on first layers if there will be subsequent layers. You can add surface seal, PVA wax paper etc. for the final layer to create a hard tack free finish.

With Wax:

Resin “with wax” is chosen if a hard tack free finish is desired. This is generally used for the last layer. This makes the addition of surface seal, PVA, wax paper etc. unnecessary.

Custom colors are made to order and typically ship within 4 business days. The pigments to create the custom colors are calibrated before adding to the gel coat so that the colors will be the same each time you order.

Cures at room temperature with the addition of MEKP. This gel coat can be thinned using styrene monomer for spray applications.

Dark blue gel coat quart

The non-wax gel coat worked great with both fumed silica and without. Used wax paper to cure final repair coat. Only issue I had was the color shown on the web site looked very close to my boat color. What I received was much lighter so had to purchase black additive to match color.

Thank you for your review. I am glad the gel coat worked great! The colors on each computer screen are slightly different so it makes it tricky to get a perfect match. We have color charts that we can mail out if you ever need to match something in the future!
