Details:

Fiberglass Warehouse DCPD/Ortho polyester resin is a low styrene, low VOC, general purpose, thixotropic resin that comes with MEKP catalyst. Mixed together, these elements form a premium lamination formula that allows you to protect a wide range of surfaces. This resin is very easy to apply and has a non-tacky finish, as well as a short curating time.  Pre-promoted for curing at room temperature with the addition of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) initiator. Fiberglass Warehouse Ortho Polyester resin has an amber tint to it.

Uses:

-Boat construction and repair above the waterline

-Molding, fabrication and repair of fiberglass laminates

-Hand lay-up application

-Spray-up process

-Base resin for polyester fairing putties and structural compounds

Features:

-Dries quickly

-Tack-free finish

-Multipurpose formula

-Easy application

-Hard finish

Application:

-Work area and resin should be between 70°F and 85°F for best results.

-Make sure the work area is well ventilated and wear proper safety clothing including gloves and a face mask.

-MEKP catalyst is needed for polyester resin to cure.  It should be added between 1-2% based on the volume of the resin. More or less than this will cause an improper cure.  Cure time and pot life will vary depending on percentage of MEKP added and the temperature of the room.  If 1% MEKP is added, there will be a longer pot life and it will cure slower than if 1.5% or 2% MEKP is added.  Same goes for temperature.  Lower temperatures result in a slower pot life/cure time than if working in higher temperatures.  Fiberglass Warehouse Fiberglass Resin is promoted to gel in 17-23 minutes at 77°F when catalyzed at 1 percent (approx. 1 tsp per pint).

-Apply to fiberglass or surface using a fiberglass roller, brush, spreader or squeegee

-Uncured polyester resin can be removed from tools and equipment with acetone.

Fiberglass Resin Premium Marine Grade Fiberglass Resin

This stuff works really nice but i try to conserve it by putting around 15 20 drops of hardner to around 2 quarts mix 2mins straight. I can use more of my batch and will last way longer and then take just a little while longer to kick but it works out perfect in the end... do not go by what it says on the youtube videos them guys are wasteing'''
